Research Economist · Energy & Environmental Economics · Decarbonization Policy
Hi, I’m Andrew.
I’m a research economist working in energy and environmental economics, where I use large-scale field experiments and quasi-experimental methods to study energy demand, pricing, and the path to decarbonization.
I’m Director of Trials and Analysis at the Centre for Net Zero, part of Octopus Energy Group, where I lead a team designing and running randomized trials on real energy-market data — from time-of-use heat pump tariffs to EV charging and demand response at the scale of millions of customers.
This September I’m also starting a PhD in Economics at the London School of Economics — a chance to dig deeper into the questions I’ve spent the last few years chasing in the field.
Before CNZ, I spent five years at the Behavioural Insights Team, where I designed and ran field experiments to bring rigorous evidence into public policy.
